ܘܫܕܪ ܚܝܪܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܪ ܐܝ̈ܙܓܕܐ ܠܘܬ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܫܕܪ ܠܗ ܩܝ̈ܣܐ ܕܐܪܙܐ ܘܐܪ̈ܕܟܠܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܐ ܘܢܓܪ̈ܐ ܕܩܝܣܐ ܠܡܒܢܐ ܠܗ ܒܝܬܐ

Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.

David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, for his people Israel’s sake.

ܘܢܣܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܢܫ̈ܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܐܬܐ ܡܢ ܚܒܪܘܢ ܘܐܬܝܠܕܘ ܠܗ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܘܒ̈ܢܬܐ

David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.

These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

ܘܫܡܥܘ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܕܐܬܡܫܚ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܡܠܟ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܣܠܩܘ ܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܕܢܒܥܘܢ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܘܫܡܥ ܕܘܝܕ ܘܢܦܩ ܠܐܘܪܥܗܘܢ

When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out against them.

Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.

ܘܫܐܠ ܕܘܝܕ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܣܩ ܥܠ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܬܬܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝ̈ܕܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܣܩ ܘܐܬܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝ̈ܕܝܟ

David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

ܘܣܠܩܘ ܠܦܩܥܬܐ ܕܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܘܚܪܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܬܪܥ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܩܕܡܝ ܐܝܟ ܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܩܪܘ ܫܡܗ̇ ܕܕܘܟܬܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܦܩܥܬܐ ܕܬܘܪܥܬܐ

So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

ܘܫܒܩܘ ܬܡܢ ܦܬܟܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܓܢܒܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܐܘܩܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܘܕܪܘ ܥܦܪܗܘܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ
wshbqw thmn pthkryhwn w'mr dwyd lgnbrwhy 'wqdw 'nwn bnwr' wdrw eprhwn brwkh'
They left their gods there; and David gave a command, and they were burned with fire.

ܘܐܘܣܦܘ ܬܘܒ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܠܡܣܩ ܘܫܪܘ ܗܘܘ ܒܦܩܥܬܐ ܕܓܢܒܪ̈ܐ

The Philistines made another raid in the valley.

ܘܫܐܠ ܬܘܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܬܣܩ ܐܠܐ ܐܬܗܦܟ ܠܟ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܘܙܠ ܩܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܗܘܢ
wsh'l thwb dwyd bmry' w'mr lh l' thsq 'l' 'thhpk lk mnhwn wzl qbl 'nwn mn qdmyhwn
David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.

ܘܟܕ ܬܫܡܥ ܩܠܐ ܕܝܠܠܬܐ ܒܪܫܗ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܬܦܘܩ ܠܩܐܪܣܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܝܕܝܢ ܗܘ ܢܦ̇ܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܠܡܚܪܒ ܠܡܫܪ̈ܝܬܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ
wkd thshme ql' dyllth' brshh dTwr' hydyn thpwq lq'rs' mTl dhydyn hw npq mry' qdmyk lmkhrb lmshryth' dplshthy'
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

ܘܥܒܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܚܪܒ ܠܡܫܪܝܬܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܥܘܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܐܙܐ

David did as God commanded him; and they attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.

ܘܢܦ̇ܩ ܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܡ̈ܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܝܗܒ ܕܚܠܬܗ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ
wnpq hw' dwyd lkwlhyn mdynth' wmry' yhb dkhlthh el klhwn emm'
The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.
